These Words
These words are meant to express what
cannot be expressed, for the feelings run so
deep and strong that they are unreachable.
These words are placed on this page to do
what cannot be done—which is to convey
a level of gratitude beyond representation.
These words are given the impossible task
of saying what is felt by the many people
whose lives you have touched with your life.
These words can only symbolize how much
you have impacted the world by being in it
and how much you are loved by just being.

My Poetic Notes:
The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: When I moved to Portland, Oregon from Salt Lake City, Utah, I finally found a job that fulfilled me: I became a Litigation Document Coder! And that means I would analyze documents that were a part of a court case (litigation) and I would read the document, figure out what type of document it was (like a letter, memo, invoice, or contract, etc.), then I would enter all of the case-relevant information into a computer. And I held this job longer than any other job I have ever had! And my bosses, Tammy and Victoria, were like friends to the employees, which is why I wrote this poem as a Christmas gift one year to the two them from my fellow employees and myself.
And this poem was only published on my "Small All White in the Forest" blog.
This poem was written in Portland, Oregon.
