The Seducer's Song
Have I frightened you, my
dearest friend?
Have I scared you from me?
Behind the curtain you spied me,
dearest friend,
a watcher's ruses tumbling.
Though, I meant my quest for a
dearest friend,
The Seducer's Song sings true.
I know you love me as your
dearest friend,
but I'm in love with you.
You embraced me when, my
dearest friend,
my eyes rained confession blue.
And his song you affirmed, the
dearest friend,
who seduced and stayed with you.
Though your kinship is rich,
dearest friend,
my desire spends your wealth.
Still seeking you as my
dearest friend,
think I'll siren someone else!

My Poetic Notes:
The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: I had a huge crush on my first gay friend Greg, but he already had a boyfriend! And I wrote this poem as a way to express my romantic feelings for him—although he wasn't interested in me 'romantically.'
And "The Seducer's Song" is a reference to the way that I felt that I was treating Greg as an 'object of my affection' and how I was "secretly trying to seduce him," which Greg called me out on; so, I decided that I should "siren someone else," because I was making Greg feel really uncomfortable by trying to convince him to break up with his boyfriend—and to date me instead—since I was so attracted to Greg!
