Post No. 100: Dedicated To The Ones I Love, Part 19 — Make Your Lotus Blossom

Make Your Lotus Blossom

Be sure to pursue your dreams before you've
"lost 'em,"
because you have just gotta make your
lotus blossom!

So, always try out new ideas before you
"toss 'em,"
because you have just gotta make your
lotus blossom!

Plus, consider all the possibilities before you
"cost 'em,"
because you have just gotta make your
lotus blossom!

Thus, you must bake those cakes before you
"frost 'em,"
because you have just gotta make your
lotus blossom!

My Poetic Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: This poem is dedicated to my friend Danny. He finally finding his dream job—as a baker—after looking for over a year. And I decided to write this poem because I was truly inspired by his persistence despite all of the rejections that he has faced. And I think that it is really important to take the time to celebrate any accomplishments, but especially the kind where we have been genuinely challenged in achieving them.

And this poem was also published on my "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer" blog (please see the hyperlink below for the blog), since I feel that the message in this poem applies to the message that I am trying to convey through "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer."

This poem was written in Portland, Oregon.
