Post No. 105: For, "It's Time To Celebrate!"

(Image from The FirstPerson Blog)

Take The Time To Celebrate
(For a friend who landed his dream job as a baker!)

Whenever you are feeling great,
just take some time to celebrate!
For, every really proud occasion
is a great reason for a celebration!

-Paul Whiting
(a.k.a., Small All White in the Forest)
"I am no barrier to its sun; the light and I are as one!"

My Poetic Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: This poem is dedicated to my friend Danny. He decided to celebrate finally finding his dream job, after looking for over a year, by spending a weekend camping. And I decided to write this poem because I really felt inspired by his persistence in finding work despite all of the rejections that he has faced! And I think that it is really important to take the time to celebrate any accomplishments, but especially the kind where we have been truly challenged in achieving them.

And this poem was also published on my "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer" blog (please see the hyperlink below for the blog), since I feel that the message in this poem applies to the message that I am trying to convey through "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer."

This poem was written in Portland, Oregon.

Post No. 104: For Our Mission In Life

(Image from Laity Lodge Youth Camp)

Our Mission In Life
(Or, "On Earth As It Is In Heaven!")

Our mission in life is to keep working toward a
much better tomorrow and an end to all sorrow!

For, if we all work toward being lovin' and givin',
our reward will be life "on earth as it is in heaven!"

-Paul Whiting
(a.k.a., Small All White in the Forest)
"I am no barrier to its sun; the light and I are as one!"

My Poetic Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: This poem was inspired by the 1986 motion picture (movie) "The Mission," about the experiences of a Jesuit missionary in 18th century South America, which was written by Robert Bolt and directed by Roland Joffé. And this poem was also inspired by the movie's soundtrack "The Mission: Music From The Motion Picture" which was composed, orchestrated, conducted and produced by Ennio Morricone and, specifically, by the song "On Earth As It Is In Heaven." (Please see the hyperlink below for the video.)

And this poem was also published on my "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer" blog (please see the hyperlink below for the blog), since I feel that the message in this poem applies to the message that I am trying to convey through "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer."

Post No. 103: For, "Your Heart Will Go On"

(Image from geograph)

Your Heart Will Go On
(Or, "Time to Deal with Your Ship!")

If you 'keep getting that sinking feeling,'
It may be "time to deal with your ship!"

-Paul Whiting
(a.k.a., Small All White in the Forest)
"I am no barrier to its sun; the light and I are as one!"

My Poetic Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: This poem was inspired by the 1997 motion picture (movie) "Titanic" directed by James Cameron, which is based upon the sinking of the HMS Titanic on April 15th, 1912, after colliding with an iceberg during her maiden voyage.

And this poem was also inspired by the song "My Heart Will Go On," written by James Horner and Will Jennings, from "Titanic: The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack," which is performed by Celine Dion. (Please see the hyperlink below for the video.)

By the way, I saw "Titanic 3D" in 2012 (which was an incredible way to experience the original 1997 version of the movie again) and, after I left the theater, I looked at my movie ticket (which I still have) and I realized that I saw the 3D movie right on April 15th, 2012—exactly 100 years to the day of Titanic's sinking on April 15th, 1912! And the funny thing is that it wasn't until after I saw the movie that I realized I had seen it on the 100th anniversary of Titanic's sinking, because I didn't consciously go to see the movie that day with the intention of seeing it on the anniversary.

And this poem was also published on my "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer" blog (please see the hyperlink below for the blog), since I feel that the message in this poem applies to the message that I am trying to convey through "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer."

Post No. 102: For "The Habit — The Lord of the Stings!"

(Image from evil.speculator)

"The Habit — The Lord of the Stings!"

Whenever we allow our bad habits to get
the very best of us, we will often call on
them simply because we think we must!

Then we may find that we cannot escape their
powerful pull—which is when we are bothered
by them
—and that can make us out to be a fool!

And that may get us to thinking, "this must be
some kind of test..."
When, really, we saddled up
that old habit and rode it straight into the west!

"I am no barrier to its sun; the light and I are as one!"

My Poetic Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: This poem was inspired by the motion picture (movie) series "The Hobbit," and "The Lord of the Rings," directed by Peter Jackson, which are based upon J. R. R. Tolkien's epic high-fantasy novels of the same names.

Post No. 101: Dedicated To The Ones I Love, Part 20 — Gentlemen, Start Your Engines!

(Image from John Stoddard in Exile)

"Gentlemen, Start Your Engines!"

It completely astounds me
with all of the technologies we
have—which are just too
numerous to mention—that
we still don't know how to
create something so simple
as a totally sustainable engine...

...Although, I may just be
"behind the times," so to speak
(due to "the great burdens"
thrusted upon my shoulders),
but I think the glorious day has
finally arrived for us to build
these really cool nanomotors.

My Poetic Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: "It completely astounds me, with all of the technologies we have—which are just too numerous to mention—that we still don't know how to create something so simple as a totally sustainable engine..."

You see, I discovered the article below regarding nanomotors when I was doing a Google search for an image to illustrate one of my blog posts. And I found the image above from the WordPress.com blog "John Stoddard in Exile," which is what introduced me to the LiveScience.com’s article below! "They're Tiny, They Run on Sunlight, Here Come The Nanomotors!" from John Stoddard in Exile:

"In the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, news about a very, very small engine that runs without producing any waste. From LiveScience.com’s story (https://www.livescience.com/571-minuscule-motor-runs-sunlight.html):

Scientists have developed tiny four-stroke engines that run on sunlight.

The nanomotors—so small that 3.8 million of them lined up end-to-end would barely span the width of a penny—generate absolutely no waste.

Each little motor is just 5 nanometers in length, macaroni-like in shape, and has a ringed structure at one end that moves back-and-forth like the pistons under your car’s hood.

Energy, in the form of photons from sunlight, excites one end of the molecule, which sets off a four-step process. Electrons are transferred along the molecule until they reach the ring structure, causing it to slide 1.3 nanometers forward on the molecule.

As the electron continues its path, it reaches a section that recycles it back to the beginning. This causes the molecule to 'reset,' and the ring returns, piston-like, to its original position.

The whole process takes about 100 microseconds.

Each step is similar to the mechanical functions of the four-stroke engine that powers a car down the road—fuel injection and combustion, piston displacement, exhaust removal, and piston replacement.

Except in this case, the exhaust is an electron, not smog-producing pollutants. The molecule, called rotaxane, forms naturally. It’s also autonomous, meaning that it will continue operating as long as energy is available.

It can work with others, or function all by itself. It can be driven at high frequency, and in mild environmental conditions it is quite durable, staying stable for at least 1,000 cycles.

While the nanomotor is less efficient than some fuel-powered engines—it has an efficiency of only 2 to 12 percent—the researchers point out that it doesn’t need refueling and that sunlight is free.

Thus, you must bake those cakes before you

Post No. 099: Dedicated To The Ones I Love, Part 18 — Other Musical Instruments

(Image from Top Creative Works)

Other Musical Instruments

Listen to the hum;
it's the music of "white noise."
Let its song sooth you...

-Paul Whiting
(a.k.a., Small All White in the Forest)
"I am no barrier to its sun; the light and I are as one!"

My Poetic Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: This poem was inspired by the television special "Barbra Streisand...And Other Musical Instruments" along with the album of the same name which were both broadcast and released in 1973 and, specifically, by the song "The World Is A Concerto / Make Your Own Kind Of Music" performed by Barbra Streisand! (Please see the hyperlink below for the video.)

And this poem is also my way of paying homage to "white noise," which is "noise containing many frequencies with equal intensities" and, specifically, "television white noise."

You see, way back in the day—long before 24 hour television broadcasts, cable television, satellite television and, now, internet television—white noise was the kind of sound that televisions used make if you turned them on when they weren't broadcasting any shows, which used to happen sometime after midnight until early in the morning! You see, the only television stations that used to exist back then—which were ABC, CBS and NBC in addition to some PBS stations—used to stop broadcasting from after midnight until the early morning shows came on.

And I used to listen to television static sometimes when I was younger and couldn't sleep! So, I would turn on the television in the living room and listen to the "hum" of the white noise, which would sooth me, and it helped me to fall asleep on the living room couch. (Please see the hyperlink below for the video.)

Just so you know, I revised this poem, as I often do with my writing! And I changed how this poem was written when I was editing all of my blog posts that are written as "Haiku-style" poems. So, I wanted to show you how this poem used to be written, before I revised it as above.

And it used to be written like this:

Other Musical Instruments

Thus, I revised this poem to be written as it is above.

"Noise (video)" from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia—which is funded primarily through donations from millions of individuals around the world, including this blogger (I make a totally affordable monthly donation):

"Noise, commonly known as static, white noise or static noise, in analog video and television, is a random dot pixel or snow pattern of static displayed when there is no transmission signal or being weak. The random pixel pattern is obtained by the antenna receiver of television sets, flat screen televisions, radio antenna, smart television sets, CRT televisions, VHS tapes and other display devices. The random pixel pattern is superimposed on the picture or the television screen, being visible as a random flicker of 'dots', 'zig-zags', 'macro' or 'snow', is the result of electronic noise and radiated electromagnetic noise accidentally picked up by the antenna like air or cable. This effect is most commonly seen with analog TV sets, blank VHS tapes, or other display devices."

My poems that are Haiku in their style—within which one stanza is composed of three lines, where each line has words containing five syllables, seven syllables and five syllables, respectively—are a lot more like Senryū poems in that the topic of these poems is typically about people, rather than the topic of these poems being about nature, as is usually the case in classic Haiku poems. My Poetic Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: This poem was inspired by the song "(It's Gonna Be A) Great Day" written by Vincent Youmans, Edward Eliscu and Billy Rose, and performed by Barbra Streisand, from the film "Funny Lady," which is the sequel to the film "Funny Girl," both of which are two of my favorite films! My Writing About How We Are Exactly The Same Kind Of Creative Energy Consciousness As 'The One,' Who Is The Very First Soul: We are all Gods and/or Goddesses! In other words, we are exactly the same kind of creative energy consciousness as very first God and/or Goddess, whom I call 'The One.' And I honestly feel that The One is an androgynous female. In other words, The One is the very first soul, or the very first creative consciousnesses of a void, and She is an 'all-powerful female consciousness with strong male attributes.' Therefore, we are also the very same energy consciousness as The One. Post No. 095: Dedicated To The Ones I Love, Part 14 — That Was Amazing, "Grace!"

(Screenshot by Paul Whiting)

That Was Amazing, "Grace!"
(An Ode to Leann Rimes Rendition of "Amazing Grace")
[An "Amazing Grace" poem poetic adaptation]

That was amazing, "Grace!" How sweet it
sounded and blessed my restlessness with
just being; I once was 'tossed,' but now I'm
'grounded' by your video that I'm seeing!

'Twas "Grace" who caught my heart in
tears; and "Grace" my heart did 'wring.'
And how glorious did that church
appear as a really great place to sing!

Though many strangers—who have recoiled
and stared—say, "y'all are so ready to be done."
'Tis "Grace" who brought us those musical bars
and "Grace" who harmonized as "The One!"

When we have cared a thousand ways, with
The Passion Of The Son, we have no less
days to share God's Praise—especially with
someone who could really use some!

That was amazing, "Grace!" How sweet it
sounded and blessed my 'binding' with
your 'freeing.' I once felt 'bossed,' but now I'm
astounded with just how 'peaceful' is my being!

-Paul Whiting
(a.k.a., Small All White in the Forest)
"I am no barrier to its sun; the light and I are as one!"

My Poetic Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: This poem was inspired by Leann Rimes' a cappella cover of the hymn "Amazing Grace." (Please see the hyperlink below for the video.)

Thus, this poem is a poetic adaptation of the hymn "Amazing Grace," which was written as a poem by John Newton and joined with the hymn "New Britain," as the melody most currently associated with the hymn. And it is one of two adaptations that I have written, with the other poem being inspired by a chat conversation that I had with 'zendawg23,' on gay.com, which is published on this blog. (Please see "Amazing Grace-Style Poem" in labels for the poem.)

Plus, when I refer to "The One," I am referring to The First Being, or The First Female, who is Karma! And I truly believe that literally every soul is a God and/or a Goddess as The One!

And The One is the First Being who Created Physics through Mathematics and who Created the Process Of Evolution through Science, by which we are all here in a Field Of Gravity experiencing our individual lives as Souls, so that we may experience Amazing Grace...

Just so you know, I revised this poem, as I often do with my writing! And I changed how one line of this poem was written when I realized that I should remove the metaphorical comparison to "blindness," since it is disrespectful toward those who are blind. So, I wanted to show you how this particular line used to be written, before I revised it as above.

And it used to be written like this:

...How sweet it
sounded and blessed my "blindness" with
your "seeing."

Thus, I revised this poem to be written as it is above.

Post No. 094: Dedicated To The Ones I Love, Part 13 — Turn And Face The Dragon!

(Image from Pinterest)

The Dragon Of Your Dreams
(Or, "Turn And Face The Dragon")

Every night when you go to sleep and
dream, you can finally face your fears—
or so it seems! Because we truly are the
hero of our very own tale, which is the
reason, in dreams, we can never truly fail...

...So, no matter what happens to you in such
dramatic ways, you are the one who will
surely save the day! And that is because you
created the whole scene—from beginning
to end and everything in between...

...Thus, when you are perched upon your
fiery steed, and you are being pursued by
"the darkest of deeds," do not despair in
your hour of need! Turn to face this beast
that your pleading does not seem to heed...

...For, he is the dragon of your worst
nightmares and he will totally follow you
quite literally everywhere! And you may try
to escape him—but it's all for not; for, he's
the part of yourself you have totally forgot...

...Thus, he's the part of yourself from a long
time ago when you thought being negative
was "putting on a good show." And you may
have even felt that choosing blame was true
power, only to realize that "The Sons of
Men" had just built "The Babylon Tower"...

...And here's the reason you should turn
and face the dragon; because he's really just
you back when you were "off the wagon!"
So, whenever you are dreaming, always
remember this: the dragon of your dreams
is simply you back when you were miffed!

-Paul Whiting
(a.k.a., Small All White in the Forest)
"I am no barrier to its sun; the light and I are as one!"

My Poetic Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: I wrote this poem with "The Dragon" as a symbol of Your Subconscious Mind, when you are dreaming and experiencing "nightmares." In other words, "The Dragon" is your subconsciousness mind being reflected by Your Own Negative Karma while you are dreaming! Thus, there is no need to fear your nightmares since, when you dream, you are seeing Your Subconscious Mind projected in front of you like a movie. And that is why lucid dreaming (or, learning how to control your dreams) is such a good thing to practice when you are dreaming!

Post No. 093: Dedicated To The Ones I Love, Part 12 — "Eight Seconds"

(Image from Wikia)

"Eight Seconds"

Sometimes, it takes a lot of preparation to create
something that causes a great deal of excitation!

And it is good to realize this, as you sweat away,
knowing that your efforts will pay off someday!

-Paul Whiting
(a.k.a., Small All White in the Forest)
"I am no barrier to its sun; the light and I are as one!"

My Poetic Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: This poem is a reference to a video that I saw on the making of "Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi" when they were talking about the scene during "The Empire's trap" where the Rebel Alliance is engaged in battle with The Empire and ships are flying past each other really fast! That particular scene lasts just a few seconds, however, it actually took about two months to shoot and edit! [I used the phrase "8 Seconds" from the motion picture (movie) of the same name to illustrate that point, but I utilized the word eight, rather than the number 8.] And I remember a comment by one of the special effects artists, who worked on that scene, saying something like, "It was really weird seeing two months of work go by in just a few seconds!"

Post No. 092: Dedicated To The Ones I Love, Part 11 — Perfect Synchronicity!

(Image from Flickr Hive Mind)

Perfect Synchronicity

When we learn to move in perfect unison—
like a great mystery—is when we learn how
to be just like "a peace hero" from history!

-Paul Whiting
(a.k.a., Small All White in the Forest)
"I am no barrier to its sun; the light and I are as one!"

My Poetic Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: This poem was inspired by a YouTube video in which the inmates of the CPDRC (Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center) are synchronized dancing to the song "Holding Out For A Hero," written by Jim Steinman and Dean Pitchford, and performed by Bonnie Tyler, in celebration of various "Peace Heroes" from history. Post No. 091: Dedicated To The Ones I Love, Part 10 — "A Prisoner in Disguise"

A Prisoner in Disguise

The "fall of mankind"
Is erectile dysfunction
That is "in disguise!"

-Paul Whiting
(a.k.a., Small All White in the Forest)
"I am no barrier to its sun; the light and I are as one!"

My Poetic Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: I feel that erectile dysfunction is a "self-esteem" issue, since the male erection of the Homo sapien species is—literally—based upon self attraction.

And, therefore, "The Fall of Mankind" in The Holy Bible is really a parable for a male ("Adam") not feeling attracted enough to himself in order to keep his spouse ("Eve") from leaving him, since he couldn't keep her sexually satisfied!

Thus, "Eve" was really tempted away from "Adam" by another male, whose torso, or trunk ("The Tree"), was displaying an erect penis (or, "A Snake in The Tree"). And this male ("The Devil"), who tempted Eve away from Adam, was really offering Eve his genetic seed by way of his testicles ("His Apples").

So, "The Knowledge Of Good And Evil" is really finding out that another male ("That Little Devil!") can tempt your spouse away from you and that's why "The Knowledge Is Forbidden!"

For, married males do not want to find out that they can lose their spouse to another male, because it feels like they are in "a prison" of no longer being able to have sexual intercourse with their spouse—and that is why they fear that they can become "A Prisoner in Disguise."

And this poem was also published on my "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer" blog (please see the hyperlink below for the blog), since I feel that the message in this poem applies to the message that I am trying to convey through "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer."

Post No. 090: Dedicated To The Ones I Love, Part 9 — An Everyday Hero Lies In You

(Image from Creativity Influencers)

An Everyday Hero Lies In You

When everything is gone, which
you thought could never be taken;
And the beliefs, which you guarded
like children, have up and left you;

And your world of certainty has
spiraled into an abyss of unknowns;
And you feel so alone, because no
one could possibly know your pain;

Remember, that you are never alone,
although you may be on your own!
You are positively surrounded by
Heroes, who touch your life every day.

You have known them since childhood,
or—perhaps—since just this morning!
These are your Everyday Heroes, who
are forever calling you to where love is.

Everyday Heroes come to you in more
ways than you can possibly imagine.
They come to remind you where love
does—and even does not—exist!

They come to confront you in your
fear and to hold you in your love.
For, it is only when a fear is faced
that love can be held in its place!

To these Heroes, you too are a Hero—
and are here to remind them, as well.
For, we are not victims who have struggled,
but Everyday Heroes who have persevered.

And we have chosen our heroism as the way
to remember who we are. So remember,
you are always in the presence of An
Everyday Hero—since you are one!

-Paul Whiting

"I am no barrier to its sun; the light and I are as one!"

My Poetic Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: This poem was inspired by the song "Hero" written, and performed, by Mariah Carey. And it is one of my favorite Mariah Carey songs—because, in my heart of hearts, I am my own hero! (Please see the hyperlink below for the video.)

By the way, this poem is also a rewrite of a poem that I wrote to help my uncle that is titled, "Calling All Angels," which is published on this blog. (Please see "Calling All Angels-Style Poem" in labels for the poem.)

And this poem was also published on my "Three Dark Horses" and "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer" blogs (please see the hyperlinks below for the blogs), since I feel that the message in this poem applies to the message I am trying to convey through "Three Dark Horses" and "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer." Post No. 089: Dedicated To The Ones I Love, Part 8 — The Greatest Love Of All Is Inside

(Image from QuotePixel)

The Greatest Love Of All Is Inside
[A "The Greatest Love of All" song lyrical adaptation]

I believe that we are the
children of our future!
Teach ourselves well and
let peace lead the way.
Show ourselves all the
beauty we possess inside!
Give ourselves a sense of
pride to make it easier.
Let our child-like laughter
remind us how we need to be!

Everybody's searching for a hero;
People need someone to look up to!
I've never found anyone to fulfill
that need. It's a lonely place to be—
And so, I learned to depend on me!

I decided long ago, to go through
life as if I were my own shadow...
...So, if I fail, or if I succeed,
I will always live as I believe!

No matter what you face—believe!
You'll always have your own dignity.
Because the greatest love of all is
happening to you! You'll find the
greatest love of all inside of you.
The greatest love of all is pleasing
to achieve! Growing to love yourself,
it is the greatest love of all.

I believe that we are the
children of our future!
Teach ourselves well and
let peace lead the way.
Show ourselves all the
beauty we possess inside!
Give ourselves a sense of
pride to make it easier.
Let our child-like laughter
remind us how we need to be!

I decided long ago, to go through
life as if I were my own shadow...
...So, if I fail, or if I succeed,
I will always live as I believe!

No matter what you face—believe!
You'll always have your own dignity.
Because the greatest love of all is
happening to you! You'll find the
greatest love of all inside of you.
The greatest love of all is pleasing
to achieve! Growing to love yourself,
it is the greatest love of all.

And if, per chance, that special place
that you have been dreaming of,
leads you to a challenging place,
"Find Your Strength In Self-Love!"

My Poetic Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: This poem is a lyrical adaptation of the song "The Greatest Love of All" written by Michael Masser and Linda Creed and, specifically, the cover performed by Whitney Houston—because, in my heart of hearts, I am an intentional self-lover! (Please see the hyperlink below for the video.)

Carried Me Through To "The One"
Who's Waiting For Me!

-Paul Whiting
(a.k.a., Small All White in the Forest)
"I am no barrier to its sun; the light and I are as one!"

My Poetic Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: This poem was inspired by the song "Vision Of Love" written by Mariah Carey and Ben Margulies, and performed by Mariah Carey, which is one of my favorite Mariah Carey songs—because, in my heart of hearts, I am a romantic fool! And "Vision Of Love" was the first Mariah Carey song the that I ever heard. (Please see the hyperlink below for the video.)

Plus, when I refer to "The One," I am referring to The First Being, or The First Female, who is Karma! And I truly believe that literally every soul is a God and/or a Goddess as The One!

And The One is the First Being who Created Physics through Mathematics and who Created the Process Of Evolution through Science, by which we are all here in a Field Of Gravity experiencing our individual lives as Souls, so that we may have a Vision Of Love...

Ooh, I will "all-ways" love you,
You, My Darlings, you...

-Paul Whiting
(a.k.a., Small All White in the Forest)
"I am no barrier to its sun; the light and I are as one!"

My Poetic Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: This poem was inspired the song "I Will Always Love You" written by Dolly Parton and, specifically, the cover performed by Whitney Houston—because, in my heart of hearts, I am a romantic fool! (Please see the hyperlink below for the video.)

By the way, the video for the song is from the 1992 motion picture (movie) The Bodyguard, which "follows a former United States Secret Service agent [Kevin Costner] turned bodyguard who is hired to protect a famous actress and singer [Whitney Houston] from an unknown stalker." So, there are a lot of depictions of violence, including gun violence, in the movie and in the music video—which I am calling attention to in order to not call attention to it—because, in promoting this video, I do not wish to promote gun violence, or other forms of violence, in the minds of those who think it's a good idea to solve problems through gun violence, or through other forms of violence.

Post No. 086: Dedicated To The Ones I Love, Part 5 — The Frazzled Hymn Of The Democrats

(Image from Wikipedia)

The Frazzled Hymn
Of The Democrats

The Democrats Are Engaged In
A Frazzled Struggle On Behalf Of
Those Who Are Experiencing Poverty
And Injustice—And All Of Those
Whom God Should Decide
Are Worthy Of Going To Heaven
—Since The Democrats Feel Like,
"We Are The World!"

-Paul Whiting
(a.k.a., Small All White in the Forest)
"I am no barrier to its sun; the light and I are as one!"

-------------------------------------------------------------------

My Writing About Why I Am A Democrat: "I am a Democrat for the very simple reason that the Democratic Party genuinely stands for what I truly believe in and that is 'the simple principle that in America, hard work should pay off, responsibility should be rewarded, and each one of us should be able to go as far as our talent and drive take us,' which is a quote from The 2012 Democratic National Party Platform." –Paul Whiting (written September 4th, 2012, revised April 14th, 2015 and revised July 9th, 2024)

-------------------------------------------------------------------

My Writing About Giving Alms To The Poor: I budget for "carrying cash" each month in my monthly budgets for any expenses that I may wish to pay for in cash. And I budget—specifically—to use some of my carrying cash to help homeless folks who are panhandling, or "spanging" (which is a term that is a blend of the word 'spare' plus the word 'change' from the phrase, "Do you have any spare change?" or the phrase, "Can you spare any change?") and that is how I give "alms to the poor." –Paul Whiting (written December 26th, 2015, revised September 24th, 2019, revised December 23rd, 2021, revised December 24th, 2021, revised December 25th, 2021, revised December 26th, 2021 and revised July 6th, 2022)

-------------------------------------------------------------------

My Poetic Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: This poem was inspired by the song "Battle Hymn of the Republic" by Julia Ward Howe.

Just so you know, I rewrote this poem, as I often do with my writing! Thus, I decided to revise this poem and change the original title from "The Battle Hymn Of The Democrats" to "The Frazzled Hymn Of The Democrats," because I think that Democrats and Republicans are both frazzled from being in a battle against each other over who is correct about their religious beliefs! So, I wanted to show you how this poem used to be written, before I rewrote it as above.

And it used to be written like this:

The Battle Hymn Of The Democrats

A Battle
Against Poverty
—And Injustice!

And, thus, I rewrote it to be written as it is above.

For, I feel like the Democrats are frazzled by believing they 'have to be' engaged in a struggle on behalf of those who are experiencing poverty and injustice—and all of those whom God should decide are worthy of going to Heaven—due to the religious beliefs of Democrats, since the Democrats feel that, to them, "We Are The World!"

And this poem was also published on my "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer" blog (please see the hyperlink below for the blog), since I feel that the message in this poem applies to the message that I am trying to convey through "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer."

My Writing About Republican Conservative Thinkers Trying To Get Rid Of Liberal Thinkers: I seriously think that Republican Conservative Thinkers are all trying to—literally—pull us back in time to the Dark Ages where they seem to exist, so that they can finally get rid of all the Liberal Thinkers! It is almost like they are trying to "marginalize everyone to death," who isn't one of their own kind, in the hopes that Jesus The Christ will finally show up for "The Rapture" and save all of them from all of the terrible people who are NOT Conservative Thinkers! –Paul Whiting (written May 2nd, 2012, revised November 24th, 2015 and revised September 7th, 2022)

-------------------------------------------------------------------

My Writing About The Republican Party's "War On America": Sometimes I truly think that the Republican Party is literally conducting a "War On America!" All they seem to want to do is disenfranchise, marginalize, get rid of—and even kill outright—anyone who is NOT one of them! –Paul Whiting (written July 23rd, 2012, revised November 21st, 2015 and revised September 7th, 2022)

My Writing About How The Conflicts Across From Us Are The Conflicts Within Us: The conflicts that we are fighting with those who are across from us are the same conflicts that we are fighting within our own consciousness. In other words, the conflicts that are across from us are the conflicts within us. –Paul Whiting (written approximately on May 10th, 2016 and turned into 'my writing' from my notes on May 11th, 2024)

a power that we express

-Paul Whiting
(a.k.a., Small All White in the Forest)
"I am no barrier to its sun; the light and I are as one!"

My Poetic Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: This poem was inspired by the song "Born To Be Wild" written by Mars Bonfire for the band Steppenwolf and, specifically, the cover performed by the band Hinder from their music video (please see the hyperlink below for the video) because, in my heart of hearts, I am a rocker dude!

By the way, I interpret the lyrics "Fire all of your guns at once" to be starting guns of a race because, in promoting this song, I do not wish to promote gun violence in the minds of those who think it's a good idea to solve problems through gun violence.

Just so you know, I revised this poem, as I often do with my writing! My Writing About Our Imagination: We are our imagination. We are God. –Paul Whiting (written April 1st, 2015 and revised August 4th, 2022)

My Writing About Using Your Imagination: There is "A Wonderful World Of You" waiting inside of you—and it comes from using your imagination... And the "you" that is waiting for you on the inside is who you really are! –Paul Whiting (written August 7th, 2016, revised August 8th, 2016, revised July 29th, 2021, revised June 25th, 2022 and revised August 4th, 2022)

My Writing About How We Are Literally Everything That Literally Nothing Can Imagine: The naturally-occurring vibration at the center of Literally Nothing is self-aware—because of the pressure right in the middle of Nothing. And that self-aware vibration is the imagination of Nothing—which is what we are as souls—and that is how we are naturally born. And because what we are as souls is that vibration of imagination—We Are Literally Everything That Literally Nothing Can Imagine! –Paul Whiting (written October 6th, 2016, revised October 7th, 2016, revised October 25th 2021, revised July 25th, 2022 and revised August 4th, 2022)

My Poetic Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: This poem was inspired by the 1971 motion picture (movie) "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory," which I saw as a child and—apparently—I never left the theater! And I especially love the song "Pure Imagination" from the movie, which is performed by Gene Wilder (please see the hyperlink below for the video). I also love covers of that song that have been sung by various artists throughout the years.

And that is why I call these types of poems "Haiku-style." –Paul Whiting [September 19th, 2023]

Post No. 082: Dedicated To The Ones I Love, Part 1 — "It's A Fantasy!" (The Universe)

"It's A Fantasy!" (The Universe)

Universes are fantasies come to life—and we
are Gods and Goddesses using our imaginations
for transforming our close-minded strife!

So, whenever you find that your closed—
and one-sided—mind starts to wandering,
it is actually an extraordinarily good sign!

It indicates that your imagination is working
—of this, have no doubt—because whatever
you are imaging will eventually come about!

My Writing About How Universes Are For Transforming Our Close-Minded Strife: Universes are fantasies come to life—and we are all Gods and/or Goddesses using our imaginations for transforming our close-minded strife! –Paul Whiting (written approximately on March 6, 2010, turned into a quote on August 4th, 2022 and revised September 4th, 2022)

My Writing About The Reality Of Universes: The reality is that universes are fantasies! –Paul Whiting (written September 29th, 2014, revised October 13th, 2021, revised August 4th, 2022 and revised September 4th, 2022)

My Poetic Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: I wrote this poem to describe the idea that Universes are fantasies come to life—and we are all Gods and/or Goddesses using our imaginations for transforming our close-minded strife!

Just so you know, I revised this poem, as I often do with my writing! And I changed how this poem was written when I was editing it on my "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer" and "Small All White in the Forest" blogs. So, I wanted to show you how this poem used to be written, before I revised it as above.

And it used to be written like this:

"It's A Fantasy!"

Universes are fantasies come to life—and we are
all Gods and/or Goddesses using our imaginations
for transforming our close-minded strife!

So, whenever you find that your closed,
and one-sided, mind starts to wandering,
it is actually an extraordinarily good sign!

It indicates that your imagination is working
—of this, have no doubt—because whatever
you are imaging will eventually come about!

Thus, I revised this poem to be written as it is above.

Post No. 081: For Nancy who offered me help when I was homeless

(Image from Lighthouseinn-ct.com)

A Special Place In Heaven

Like a lighthouse in a great storm,
she took on a heavenly form, because
when "my ship was so very lost at sea,"
she was so very much there for me.
Through her kind thoughts, words
and deeds, she reached out in order
to help me see that my prayers were
being heard, according to God's Word.
For, I was without any shelter in a
truly cold swelter. And so, I had to pitch
a tent—past "the dark night" of my fear—
in a nature park, right where I could hear
the comments from the many passers by
—and quite a few were really quite snide—
about the "legality" of my living situation!
And that's why I feared getting a citation.
Besides that, living out in the open was
also scary for me, which is why I simply
could not believe just how much relief
that her hope and kindness could bring.
And, thus, I can attest that all of those who
grow closer to Our Lord God through His
Everlasting Covenant to truly express His
Love for us best—by being so kind and true—
have "A Special Place In Heaven!" And
their efforts will seem well spent when
they see just how their kindness toward
"the less fortunate" was so much in accord
with God's Plan for us to expand our idea
of how we should be living in order to
receive "His Heavenly Rewards." And that
is how God's Love is shown through our
good works—just like The Lord's Hand!

"I am no barrier to its sun; the light and I are as one!"

I budget for "carrying cash" each month in my monthly budgets for any expenses that I may wish to pay for in cash.

My Poetic Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: I wrote this poem after I was homeless for ten days in October of 2009!

And, for me, the toughest part about being homeless wasn't living outdoors, since I was basically "camping": it was the way that some people treated me, because I didn't have a place to live. [However, I should clarify that it never stormed while I was homeless, nor did it ever reach freezing temperatures; plus, I had money available to buy whatever I needed (the reader should know that I am HIV-positive and that I have full-blown AIDS) due to the fact that I am on "SSDI," or Social Security Disability Insurance.]

And while I was camping in a nature park in Portland, Oregon, I met this wonderful woman, Nancy, who offered to help me, since I didn't have a place to live!

Just so you know, I revised this poem, as I often do with my writing! And I changed how this poem was written when I was editing it on my "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer," "Small All White in the Forest" and "Three Dark Horses" blogs. So, I wanted to show you how this poem used to be written, before I revised it as above.

And it used to be written like this:
