A Poem On Maya Angelou’s Passing Away

Fear not! For, it is not the end of the
whole show... The curtain has simply
been drawn on this production and the
thespian has moved on to yet another play!

"I am no barrier to its sun; the light and I are as one!"

"Fear not! For, it is not the end of the whole show... The curtain has simply been drawn on this production and the thespian has moved on to yet another play!" –Paul Whiting (written May 29th, 2014 and revised April 26th, 2015)

My Poetic Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: "Fear not! For, it is not the end of the whole show... The curtain has simply been drawn on this production and the thespian has moved on to yet another play!"

And this poem was only published on my "Small All White in the Forest" blog.

This poem was written in Portland, Oregon.

Statement from Dr. Maya Angelou’s Family:

Dr. Maya Angelou passed quietly in her home before 8:00 a.m. EST. Her family is extremely grateful that her ascension was not belabored by a loss of acuity or comprehension. She lived a life as a teacher, activist, artist and human being. She was a warrior for equality, tolerance and peace. The family is extremely appreciative of the time we had with her and we know that she is looking down upon us with love.
