When a star is born, they possess
a gift or two—one of them is this:
they have the power to make
your dreams become you...
...For, "when you wish upon a star,"
it makes a difference to who you are,
because anything that your heart
desires will become you...
...So, if your heart is in your dream,
no desire is too extreme; for,
when you wish upon a star,
your dreams will become you...
...Fate does not mind—she will
always bring to those who love
the karmic fulfillment of
their secret longings...
...And like a bolt out of the blue,
fate steps in and then becomes you;
for, when you wish upon a star,
your dreams will become you...

My Poetic Notes:
The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: This poem is a lyrical adaptation of the song "When You Wish Upon a Star," which was written by Leigh Harline and Ned Washington for Walt Disney's 1940 adaptation of Pinocchio. The original version was sung by Cliff Edwards in the character of Jiminy Cricket. And it is one of my favorite songs! (Please see the hyperlink below for the video.)
And this poem was also published on my "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer" blog (please see the hyperlink below for the blog), since I feel that the message in this poem applies to the message that I am trying to convey through "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer."
