Post No. 073: For Self-Reflection, Part 7 — I Walked The Path

(Image from Jeanette Melian, LLC)

I Walked The Path

I walked the path that I had placed
before me, for I cleared the way
with my thoughts and deeds.

But I came to think this course
was chosen for me, as it was longer
and harder than at first I believed!

I struggled at each turn to stay true
to myself, since I had renounced
my center with lies and stealth.

When I saw this great error, I made
rigorous amends
and realized great
changes with my changing intent!

The difficulties ahead leveled out to
a smooth road, going so easy and
peaceful
to lead me back home.

Upon my arrival, I found home so
strange:
it was just the same as
before, but I had changed!

The journey I had taken—to find out
who I truly was—had circled back
to myself and I truly found love.

-Paul Whiting
(a.k.a., Small All White in the Forest)
"I am no barrier to its sun; the light and I are as one!"

My Poetic Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: This poem is a metaphor for dealing with My Karma!

Just so you know, I revised this poem, as I often do with my writing! And I changed how this poem was written when I was editing it on my "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer," "Small All White in the Forest" and "Three Dark Horses" blogs. So, I wanted to show you how this poem used to be written, before I revised it as above.

And it used to be written like this:

I Walked The Path

I walked the path that I had placed
before me, for I cleared the way
with my thoughts and deeds.

But I came to think this course
was chosen for me, as it was longer
and harder than at first I believed!

I struggled at each turn to stay true
to myself, since I had renounced
my center with lies and stealth.

When I saw this great error, I made
rigorous amends
and realized great
changes with my changing intent!

The difficulties ahead leveled out to
a smooth road, so easy going and
peaceful
to lead me back home.

Upon my arrival, I found home so
strange:
it was just the same as
before—but I had changed!

The journey I had taken, to find out
who I truly was, had circled back
to myself and I truly found love.

Thus, I revised this poem to be written as it is above.

And this poem was also published on my "Three Dark Horses" and "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer" blogs (please see the hyperlinks below for the blogs), since I feel that the message in this poem applies to the message I am trying to convey through "Three Dark Horses" and "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer." Plus, I feel that the message in this poem applies to the message I am trying to convey through my new "The Oneness Of God" spiritual practice!

Post No. 072: For Self-Reflection, Part 6 — Totally Free And Clear

(Image from Mallard Hawk Primary PTA)

Totally Free And Clear
(Or, "Being Completely Responsible")

I saw myself as the child,
but finally concluded that—
in reality—I was the parent.

I saw myself as the student,
then finally understood that—
undoubtedly—I was the teacher.

I saw myself as the apprentice,
only to finally comprehend that—
in all actuality—I was the master.

For, I saw myself as being totally
free and clear—and I finally realized
that means being completely responsible.

Post No. 071: For Self-Reflection, Part 5 — The Circle Is Complete

(Image from NaturalWealthJournal)

The Circle Is Complete

I am them and they are also me.
They are droplets of water
and I am the sea!

We are one—and yet we are apart.
I am the whole of me and
they are the parts!

I make a sound—they are its ring.
And together we sing songs
written by me!

We dance our dance so joyfully.
As we are one and many,
the circle is complete!

My Writing About The Fact That We Are Oceans Of Souls: We are oceans of individual souls that embody all things! –Paul Whiting (written January 24th, 2014 and revised August 30th, 2022)

My Writing About How God Is Like An Ocean And All Of Us Souls Are Like Droplets Of Water In That Ocean: Being God is like being an ocean and being an individual soul within God's Creation is like being a droplet of water in that ocean. So, each soul is very much like one droplet of water and God is like the ocean—which is a combination of a lot of water droplets. Thus, that is why many souls believe that they are, in fact, God since they are quite literally one droplet of water in God's Ocean; however, they are simply an individual portion of God's Creation as a droplet of water. Therefore, God is the entire ocean, because He is every droplet of water, and not simply an individual droplet, since He is all of the water droplets combined. –Paul Whiting (written January 26th, 2023 and revised May 21st, 2023)

Post No. 070: For Self-Reflection, Part 4 — All The Colors Of The Rainbow!

(Image from Chakra Anatomy)

All The Colors Of The Rainbow!

Sometimes, we are ragingly angry
and want so much to place blame.

Sometimes, we are wildly desiring
and then want more of the same.

Sometimes, we are totally willful
so we can finally get things done.

Sometimes, we are gently heartfelt
so that we ultimately do no wrong.

Sometimes, we are daringly vocal
in order to just speak our peace.

Sometimes, we are so mindful
in order to attain being at ease.

Sometimes, we are self-loving
about the feelings we can show.

Then, sometimes, we express
All The Colors Of The Rainbow!

-Paul Whiting
(a.k.a., Small All White in the Forest)
"I am no barrier to its sun; the light and I are as one!"

My Poetic Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: "All The Colors Of The Rainbow" are the Chakras—or the Energy Centers of the Human Body: 'anger' is red; 'desire' is orange; 'will' is yellow; 'heart' is green; 'voice' is blue; 'mind' is purple; 'self-love' is pink, since there are seven Chakras! And 'all the colors' combined are represented in their totality by white.

And you will notice that the Chakras are, in fact, the colors of a rainbow, because they represent The Light Of God (which is a white light, literally like the light of the stars in the universe, including the sun of our solar system) divided into its individual aspects—in the same way that a rainbow is sunlight divided into the colors red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple and pink through the prism of rain water droplets.

Just so you know, I revised this poem, as I often do with my writing! And I changed how this poem was written when I was editing it on my "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer," "Small All White in the Forest" and "Three Dark Horses" blogs. Sometimes, we are daringly vocal
in order to just speak our peace.

Sometimes, we are so mindful
in order to attain being at ease.

Sometimes, we are self-loving

Then—sometimes—we can express
All The Colors Of The Rainbow!

Post No. 069: For Self-Reflection, Part 3 — Bound By The Law

(Image from Twitter)

Bound By The Law
(Or, "Karma Is The Law Of God")

The karmic circle of life
is the law that binds.

It is the law which can
be bent in awareness,

but it can only be broken
out of a desire to know.

Break the law and you
you will surely know it.

Know the law and
you will surely bend it.

Post No. 068: For Self-Reflection, Part 2 — Growing Up

(Image from Wikipedia)

Growing Up

Fear is the hunger.

Anger is the lightning.

Expression is the thunder.

Honesty is the rainfall.

Understanding is the soil.

Desire is the seed.

Love is the nutrients.

Joy is the sunlight.

Wisdom is the harvest.

My Writing About The Harvest Of Wisdom: Fear is the hunger. Anger is the lightning. Expression is the thunder. Honesty is the rainfall. Understanding is the soil. Desire is the seed. Love is the nutrients. Joy is the sunlight. Wisdom is the harvest. –Paul Whiting (written on May 1st, 2009 and turned into 'my writing' on April 13th, 2024)

My Writing About The Seeds Of Possibility: All ideas are seeds and they only grow if you help them to do so! –Paul Whiting (written approximately on March 19th, 2011 and turned into 'my writing' on August 30th, 2022)

My Writing About The Seeds Of Truth, Version No. 1: Every soul that exists is born as "A Seed Of Truth," so to speak, since we are all born as Literally Nothing. And as "The Seeds Of Truth," so to speak, all of the souls that exist are created from Nothing. For, everything that has ever been created began—literally—as Nothing! –Paul Whiting (written May 12th, 2013, revised August 31st, 2013, revised March 11th, 2014, revised March 28th, 2022 and revised August 30th, 2022)

My Writing About The Seeds Of Truth, Version No. 2: Every soul that exists is born as "A Seed Of Truth," so to speak, since we are all born as Literally Nothing. And Nothing has a vibration in the center of it—due to the pressure right in the middle of Nothing—that produces light, which is self-aware or, phrased another way, that light is literally consciousness. Therefore, all of the souls that exist are created as "The Seeds Of Truth," so to speak, from the vibration at the center Nothing. And that center vibration of nothing is The Light Of God, which is also The Consciousness Of God. And so, phrased another way, that Light Consciousness at the center of Literally Nothing is like a seed, which is what we are. –Paul Whiting (written approximately on August 9th, 2013 and turned into 'my writing' from my notes on August 30th, 2022)

My Poem About The Trees In Springtime:

The Trees Must Be So 'Re-Leaved'
(Or, "A Springtime Haiku-Style Poem")

The trees must be so
're-leaved' when it is springtime:
Winter is over!

–Paul Whiting September 12th, 2022 and revised September 13th, 2022)

My Poetic Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: I wrote this poem to explain the concept that, metaphorically speaking—or, comparatively speaking—maturing to be a responsible adult is like growing and harvesting your own food, since being responsible for oneself leads to wisdom!

And this poem was also published on my "Three Dark Horses" and "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer" blogs (please see the hyperlinks below for the blogs), since I feel that the message in this poem applies to the message I am trying to convey through "Three Dark Horses" and "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer." Post No. 067: For Self-Reflection, Part 1 — Map Quest

(Image from Dorset Cereals)

Map Quest
(Or, "The Real Treasure Hunt")

The treasure
lies within
the hunt!

In other words:

It is the hunt
that is the
treasure!

-Paul Whiting
(a.k.a., Small All White in the Forest)
"I am no barrier to its sun; the light and I are as one!"

My Poetic Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: I wrote this poem to explain the concept that "the treasure" (the reward for doing work) is a characteristic of, or an integral part of, or a natural state of "the hunt" (the process of doing work).

In other words, it is the process of doing work that matters. For, it is the process of doing work that is the "treasure"—and not necessarily the "reward" of doing work that is the treasure—because, sometimes, "there is no treasure found from the hunt."

Thus, it is the hunt that is the treasure!

Put another way, it is the process of doing work that is the reward of doing work—because doing work is intrinsically rewarding and you gain insights about how best to process doing that kind of work from doing it—since there are times when there is no "reward" for doing work.

Now in this metaphor, or direct comparison, that I am making, I am referring specifically to the types of work where there is an actual possibility that "the treasure lies within the hunt" since, for some types of work, it is required for there to be "a literal reward" in order for that work to have any value at all!

Therefore, this is simply a metaphorical comparison that I am making with specific regard to the types of work for which this metaphor of "the treasure lies within the hunt" actually applies.

Thus, I am extolling the virtues of seeing the process of doing work as being valuable in lieu of, or in place of, the reward of doing work, because there are times in life when you do work—such as trail and error effort, or research and development, or the scientific method, for example—where there are no "rewards," necessarily, but there is still value in doing that work due to experience gained, as well as due to the work that you produced which you may not be able to utilize at the time, but that you can utilize at another time...

...A simple example of this is in motion picture production (movie production), where motion picture studios (movie studios) will film sequences for motion pictures (movies) that "end up on the cutting room floor," as the saying goes; but the studios may recycle those film sequences that were cut, later on, in order to utilize those film sequences in other motion pictures (movies).

Just so you know, I revised this poem, as I often do with my writing! And I changed how this poem was written when I was editing it on my "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer" and "Small All White in the Forest" blogs. So, I wanted to show you how this poem used to be written, before I revised it as above.

Thus, I revised this poem to be written as it is above.
